They also offer a more open view through the shutters than those of 2 1/2 inch louvers. Panels with 3 1/2 inch louvers can be built wider than those built with 2 1/2 inch louvers. Though appropriate for windows of any size, they are best suited to houses with larger windows. | 4 1/2 inch louvers offer a dramatic and contemporary look. They offer the most unobstructed views through the shutters than other louver sizes. Because of the size of the louvers, they are typically mounted further away from the surface of the window and tend to protrude into the room.
